HOUSTON (May 05, 2011) - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), the parent company of Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks (www.mit-lift.com), recently developed two special heavy-duty forklifts with radiation shielded cabins to help handle and dispose of contaminated rubble at the crisis-hit Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The first of the two units is to be delivered this week to a joint venture formed by Taisei Corporation, Kajima Corporation and Shimizu Corporation that is handling the clean up at the site, with the second unit to follow later this month.
